The only horse at Carousel Farm that competed in Dressage was our stallion, Sonset Sieger. I hope to start dressage instruction on Plain As Bay. I think Boogie and Jet would be competitive at Dressage, as well. .

I don't have any experience riding dressage, but we do a lot of flat work with our horses. I would like to ride in the Paraolympics, which does not have jumpers, but does have dressage. Because we do so much flat work, I do know how to get a horse round and on the bit. Now that I am riding horses, I have mounts that would be better suited for dressage work. Our stallion, Sonset's Sieger was a really good dressage horses. The Ttrakehner breed, which is how most of our horses are bred has historical done well in dressage. I plan to start getting some dressage instruction on my mom's horse Jacquoe. I plan to train for dressage with Matt McGlauglin. Mat is a wonderful dressage rider and also performs. I get bored easily, but I think Matt is a great rider and will be able to keep things really fun. Our stallion prospect, Jet has wonderful movement that would be suitable for dressage, but we will have to check the policy regarding a minor riding a stallion in competition. I love the extended trot, piaffe, passage and tempi changes that high school horses do. I hope to be able to ride and train some of the advanced manuevers some day!
